Firefighter Requirements

The East Dundee Fire Protection District is currently accepting applications for part-time Firefighter/EMT-B or Firefighter/Paramedic.

All applicants must meet the following minimum requirements established by the East Dundee Fire Protection District: 

• U.S. Citizenship and/or Legal Permanent Resident of the United States 
• No Felony Convictions
• Valid State-Issued Driver's License
• Minimum 21 Years of Age, But Not Older Than 35 years of Age; Unless Exempt as Noted Under Illinois State Statute (65 IL 5/10-2.1-6.3)
• Possess a High School Diploma or G.E.D. Equivalent
• Possess a Valid EMT-Basic or Paramedic License (EMT-P) Issued By the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH)
• Certification by the State Fire Marshal's Office as a Basic Operations Firefighter (Firefighter II)
• Provide a Valid CPAT (Candidate Physical Ability Test Card) with Ladder Climb
